We’re riding Anti-Clockwise to the South East of York. The number of groups, will depend on the number of people riding.

Current forecast for the start of the ride 8C warming up to 10C, 6mph wind from the North. Laaving South on the A19 to Stillingfleet and Cawood. Left turn to Wistow and through Selby. Small section on the A163 to Bubwith (if wet we’ll stay on it a little longer to avoid Intakefield road as it’s sometimes muddy). Northwards to Elvington, taking care at the A64 roundabout to come back through Heslington.

YRCC Ride 198 (Easter Sunday ride to Towton Moor Battlefield)

We’re riding Clockwise to the South West of York. The number of groups, will depend on the number of people riding.

Current forecast looks cool for the start of the ride 4C warming up to 6C, 10mph wind from the North. We head South with the wind on the A19 then turn right to Stillingfleet. Through Cawood and head West through Biggin to Church Fenton. Taking care at the junction for a small section of main road to turn off and climb gently to Saxton and in to the wind passing Towton Moor Memorial then downhill towards Tadcaster. Up to Healaugh and East in to York through Askham Bryan and Tadcaster Road.

We’re riding Clockwise to the North East of York. The number of groups, will depend on the number of people riding. We’re riding the route was cancelled last week.

Current forecast looks good for the start of the ride 4C warming up to 8C, 7mph wind from the West. Keeping to good roads at the start out on Hull Road we then turn off for quieter roads through Stockton on Forest out to Kirkham Abbey. East through Westow and down to Buttercrambe and back through Murton and Heslington.

Current forecast for the ride is 0-2C so watch out for ice, 20mph wind from the East to help us back in to York. Keeping to good roads at the start out on Hull Road we then turn off for quieter roads through Stockton on Forest out to Kirkham Abbey. Current forecast for the ride is 7-10C, 5mph wind from the East to help us back in to York. Heading East towards Heslington and on to Elvington going the safest way out the A64 roundabout. Over the A1079 up to Yapham then West at Bishop Wilton. Full Sutton and over the A166 to Buttercrambe then back in to York through Murton then taking it easy over Walmgate Stray back to the start.

Unless the weather seriously improves, it’s looking likely the ride this Sunday will NOT go ahead. With Temperatures continuing to be below zero and snow showers forecast before Sunday, the conditions look too dangerous for a ride to go ahead.

Current forecast for the ride is 1-3C so watch out for ice, 10-12mph wind from the East to help us back in to York. Keeping to good roads at the start out on Hull Road we then turn off for quieter roads through Murton and on to Stamford Bridge. South East down to Pocklington then South West to Melbourne and up to Elvington, careful at the A64 roundabout before returning through Heslington.

Introductory rides

These rides are aimed at introducing people to club riding. If you’ve ever thought of riding with a club but were unsure then this ride is for you. The rides will be 20-25 miles long at a speed of 11-14 mph although priority will be given to keeping together. At least two of our regular club riders will be on the ride to guide you along and give advice. You should be back in time to join the rest of the club at Cycle Heaven for post ride food and drink if you wish. No need to register, just turn up at Cycle Heaven and ride. Current forecast for the ride is 5-8C, 6-8mph wind from the South to help us back in to York. Heading out over the Millennium Bridge then South through Bishopthorpe for a small section on the Planets. East to Escrick and South through Skipwith. West to Selby, Brayton and Thorpe Willoughby. Out on to the B1222 with the breeze up to Cawood. Then up to Stillingfleet, Naburn and Fulford.
