It’s our 150th club ride. To celebrate we’re riding a longer distance than normal with some hills and a cafe stop along the route.

Leaving Cycle Heaven at 0900 heading North to Huntington, Flaxton, Thornton le Clay, Slingsby, Hovingham, Nunnington, Gillamoor and round to Hutton-le-Hole for a cafe stop. South from there to Marton, Great Barugh, Amotherby, Terrington, Sheriff Hutton, Strensall, Osbaldwick, Heslington and back to Cycle Heaven.

The weather looks good. We’re riding a flat route clockwise to the South of York. Leaving South down the A19 to Crockey Hill, Wheldrake, Thorganby and Skipwith. Taking care over the roundabout to Barlby, in to Selby and out to Brayton. The only small hill of the ride round to Thorpe Willoughby. Then wind assisted all the way back through Cawood, Stillingfleet and Naburn. Back in to York for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Mudguards are not compulsory this Sunday and the weather looks good. We’re riding clockwise to the North East of York. Heading down by the river and leaving York down Gillygate and on to New Earswick, Haxby, Strensall, Stillington and Brandsby. South East from there through Stearsby, Whenby and Sheriff Hutton. East to a small climb near Thornton Le Clay without the ice this time, Flaxton and Huntington back in to York for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Mudguards are currently required to ride with the club until end of March. We’re riding anti clockwise to the North East of York. Heading for Murton and Buttercrambe. Then a few ups and downs through Acklam, Leavening and Kennythorpe. Before coming back South West through Westow, Howsham, Bossal, Sand Hutton, Stockton on the Forest and back in to York for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Mudguards are required to ride with the club until end of March. We’re riding anti clockwise to the South West of York. Heading for Catterton, Tadcaster, up Windmill Road to Bramham. Then South in to the slight wind to Aberford, East through Saxton, Church Fenton and Cawood. Wind assisted to Naburn for a brief section on the Planets track, carrying onward for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Mudguards are still required to ride with the club. We’re riding clockwise to the West of York on an extended repeat of ride #52. Heading through Copmanthorpe, Appleton Roebuck, up to Bilbrough, Catterton, Tadcaster. A small loop round Stutton and Toulston back in to Tadcaster. Up to Wighill then East through Healaugh and Askham Bryan. Back in to York up Tadcaster Road for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Mudguards are still required to ride with the club. We’re riding anti clockwise to the North of York. Heading up Tadcaster road and out of York via Gillygate and Haxby; joining the quieter section of Wigginton Road. After Sutton on Forest we turn West for Huby and the climb at Crayke (the climb can be avoided by turning left just before Crayke and meet back up in Easingwold). Turning left past the Castle keeping an eye out for the left turn up a small section of single track to get to Oulston Road bringing us in to Easingwold. From there it’s South West in to the forecasted wind to Alne and Tollerton. Through Overton and carefully over the A19 for the ride back in to York hopefully wind assisted. The route ends for an optional cafe stop at Your Bike Shed.

How to transfer the route to your device

  1. Save the GPX or TCX file to your computer.
  2. Plug the Edge 800/810/820/1000 in to your computer. Once connected, it is recognized as a USB drive.
  3. Open the “Garmin” folder in that drive.
  4. Find the folder labeled, “NewFiles”. Move your downloaded TCX or GPX file there.
  5. Once the file has transferred, you can disconnect your Garmin.
  6. Now turn on your Garmin 800/810/820/1000. The route should be available in Courses on the device.

Mudguards are now required to ride with the club. We’re riding clockwise to the South of York to avoid clashing with a reliability ride. Leaving on the Planets track then over to Crockey Hill taking care on the A19. Passing through Wheldrake, Thorganby, Skipwith, Osgodby and Selby. Mostly North from there through Cawood, Stillingfleet, Naburn. We’ll then go on to the Planets track over the river in to Middlethorpe and over Millennium Bridge for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Mudguards are now required to ride with the club. We’re riding clockwise to the East of York, going past the Minster and out on Stockton Lane. Through Warthill, Upper Helmsley and Stamford Bridge. Then Fangfoss and taking care over the A1079, Sutton Upon Derwent, Elvington, Wheldrake and Crockey Hill. For safety we’ll go on to the A19 briefly to get on to the Planets track over the river in to Middlethorpe and over Millennium Bridge for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
