We’re riding Clockwise to the South West of York. The number of groups, will depend on the number of people riding.
Current forecast for the start of the ride 16C, 6mph wind from the North West. Heading over the Millennium Bridge and South to Appleton Roebuck, we then turn West to Tadcaster, Staxton and Bramham. North to Boston Spa and Tockwith, then East through Long Marston, Rufforth and back to the start through Acomb and next to the river.
Optional Coffee stop after the ride at Cycle Heaven.

The forecast suggests -1C and 12mph Winds from the East. There is also Heavy Snow coming in so there is a chance the ride may be cancelled if it’s too bad. I’ve kept the route short and to fairly good roads. South on the A19 to turn for Naburn, Stillingfleet and Cawood. On to Biggin and North up to Church Fenton and Ulleskelf. In to Tadcaster then Bolton Percy, Appleton Roebuck and Bishopthorpe.
There will be an optional cafe stop on return to Cycle Heaven.
We’re riding clockwise to the South West of York. Leaving South on the A19 turning off for Naburn, Stillingfleet and Cawood. Left turn down through Wistow then West on quieter roads towards Sherburn in Elmet, over some busy roundabouts. North on quieter roads once again through Saxton then right going past Towton memorial up to Tadcaster. Over the bridge and right turn for Oxton, Appleton Roebuck, Acaster Malbis, Bishopthorpe ending with an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Heading through Copmanthorpe, Appleton Roebuck, up to Bilbrough, Catterton, Tadcaster. A small loop round Stutton and Toulston back in to Tadcaster. Up to Wighill then East through Healaugh and Askham Bryan. Back in to York up Tadcaster Road for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Forecast at the moment to be a chilly start with 15mph wind from the North West. The route this Sunday heads in to the wind West from Tesco through Askham Bryan and Askham Richard. North through Rufforth and towards Hessay then West to Tockwith. Hopefully the wind behind us South to Thorpe Arch, Boston Spa and Clifford for a small climb at Windmill Hill. East from there to Tadcaster, walking over the bridge and carrying on to Bolton Percy and Appleton Roebuck. Back in to York through Bishopthorpe and over the Millenium bridge for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
Sundays ride takes us on familiar roads to the West of York. Heading out towards Copmanthorpe, Bilbrough. Then South through Colton towards Appleton Roebuck. Then West through Bolton Percy, Oxton and Tadcaster. Then on through Healaugh, Askham Richard and back out up to Long Marston past the monument. Through Bilton in Ainsty, Bickerton then back towards York through Tockwith and Hessay. Hopefully the wind assists us back on the A59 for an optional stop at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride will see us head South West out of York through Copmanthorpe, Appleton Roebuck, Colton, Bilbrough, Catterton, Tadcaster. Then South East through Ulleskelf and Biggin. Heading North back to York through Cawood, Stillingfleet, Naburn and Fulford for coffee & cake.
Sundays ride will see us head south out of York through Bishopthorpe, Acaster Malbis, Appleton Roebuck, Bolton Percy, Oxton, Tadcaster, Boston Spa, Thorp Arch, Bickerton, Tockwith, Long Marston, and Rufforth, before heading back to York for coffee & cake.
