Full mudguards are required to ride with the club until the clocks change at the end of March. We’re riding Anti Clockwise to the South West of York. The number of groups, will depend on the number of people riding.
Could we see a few people wearing shorts? Current forecast suggests no ice, cloudy but dry 8-12C with 12mph wind from the South West to help us back in to York. Leaving over the Millennium bridge making our way out on Tadcaster road to Askham Bryan and Thorpe Arch. Over Boston Spa bridge possibly in to a bit of a headwind to Clifford and up Windmill Road to Bramham. South on Paradise Way and carefully across the big roundabout to Aberford. Turning East to make use of the breeze back home on the ups and downs to Towton. Rolling in to Tadcaster then Bolton Percy, Appleton Roebuck and back to the start through Bishopthorpe.

Looks like a chilly 2C start, 7mph wind coming from the West. We head West over the Millennium Bridge out to Askham Bryan, Healaugh and through Thorpe Arch estate to Boston Spa. Then East to Tadcaster, Ulleskelf, Ryther and Cawood. North from there up to Naburn and in to Fulford.
There will be an optional cafe stop on return to Cycle Heaven.
We’re riding clockwise to the West of York. Heading out through Bishopthorpe, Bolton Percy, Tadcaster and Thorner. North to Rigton then East to Bramham for a quick climb then descending in to Clifford and on to Boston Spa. A small section of bike track to Thorpe Arch estate, for a finish with a tail wind to Askham Bryan ending with an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

The route this Sunday heads West from Tesco through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, Wighill and Walton. Heading South from there to Boston Spa and on to Tadcaster. Against the wind to Ulleskelf, Cawood and the edge of Stillingfleet. A brief section on the A19 turning right at Escrick and out to Wheldrake. North towards Elvington for the wind to help us back past the York Maze down Hull Road and Heslington for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
We’re starting from Tesco going anti clockwise to the South West of York. Heading West through Askham Bryan, Healaugh and Thorpe Arch estate. South to Boston Spa across the bridge for a climb up “windmill hill”. A scenic route down Warren Lane, taking care at the A1 roundabout then going through Aberford. Wind assisted East towards Saxton, Barkston Ash, Church Fenton, Cawood, Stillingfleet and Naburn. In to Fulford for an optional cafe stop for coffee & cake at Cycle Heaven.
Sundays ride is flatter than the last few rides. We head West through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, Wighill then over the bridge at Boston Spa. From there South East through Clifford and Toulston. On to Ulleskelf, Ryther and Cawood. Then North East up to Escrick and Wheldrake. Back in to Fulford with an optional stop at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride sees us visit Towton Battlefield that saw war on Easter Sunday in 1461. Don’t forget the clocks go forward. Leaving West from York through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, and Wighill. Then South past Thorpe Arch, Boston Spa, Clifford and Bramham. Then East from Aberford, Towton, Ulleskelf, Ryther and Cawood. North from there through Stillingfleet, Naburn and in to Fulford. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride takes us on familiar roads to the West of York and then some new ones. Heading out through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, Wighill, Thorpe Arch, and Boston Spa. New roads and a steady climb to Collingham, Linton, Sicklinghall, Barrowby and Kirkby Overblow. Then winding back towards York through Spofforth, North Deighton, Cowthorpe, Tockwith, Long Marston and Rufforth. Stop at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride will see us head south out of York through Bishopthorpe, Acaster Malbis, Appleton Roebuck, Bolton Percy, Oxton, Tadcaster, Boston Spa, Thorp Arch, Bickerton, Tockwith, Long Marston, and Rufforth, before heading back to York for coffee & cake.
