Mudguards are required to ride with the club until end of March. We’re riding anti clockwise to the South West of York. Heading for Catterton, Tadcaster, up Windmill Road to Bramham. Then South in to the slight wind to Aberford, East through Saxton, Church Fenton and Cawood. Wind assisted to Naburn for a brief section on the Planets track, carrying onward for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Leaving on the Planets track then over to Crockey Hill taking care on the A19. Passing through Wheldrake, Thorganby, Skipwith, Osgodby and Selby. Mostly North from there through Cawood, Stillingfleet, Naburn. We’ll then go on to the Planets track over the river in to Middlethorpe and over Millennium Bridge for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

West from there to Cawood, Ryther, Church Fenton, Barkston Ash and Saxton. North through Towton, Stutton and Toulston. Then East with fingers crossed for wind assistance over the footbridge at Tadcaster and on through, Catterton, Bilbrough, Askham Bryan and in to York for an optional cafe stop at Your Bike Shed.
The route this Sunday heads West from Tesco through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, Wighill and Walton. Heading South from there to Boston Spa and on to Tadcaster. Against the wind to Ulleskelf, Cawood and the edge of Stillingfleet. A brief section on the A19 turning right at Escrick and out to Wheldrake. North towards Elvington for the wind to help us back past the York Maze down Hull Road and Heslington for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
With the wind forecast to come from the South; we’re heading South to benefit from the tailwind for the way home. Starting from Tesco towards Bishopthorpe to join the Planets bike track down to Selby. Then we’re staying on mainly single track roads through Barlow, Carlton, Hirst Courtney, Temple Hirst and Burn. On the A19 to Brayton then some more quiet roads to Thorpe Willoughby and on to Cawood. Help from a tailwind to Stillingfleet and Naburn. Briefly on the bike track again over the river to come back in to York via Bishopthorpe Road for an optional cafe stop at Your Bike Shed.
We’re heading West to avoid an Event taking place in Brandsby. Leaving Tesco on the Planets ride to Naburn and on to Stillingfleet. We then go over Cawood bridge (closing later this year), Ryther, Ulleskelf, Towton and Aberford. We then head North taking care over the A64 roundabout to Bramham, Clifford, Toulston and dismountingto cross the walkway at Tadcaster. Back in to York through Catterton, Askham Bryan and Acomb. With an optional cafe stop for coffee & cake at Your Bike Shed.
The club ride this Sunday follows some of the TDY route. We’re heading South on the Planets route to Riccal. Then West through Kelfield, Cawood, Ryther and Ulleskelf. Up through Tadcaster to Wetherby and Kirk Deighton. From there we wind East back in to York through Bickerton, Long Marston and Rufforth. Optional Cafe visit afterwards for coffee and cake.
Sundays ride sees us visit Towton Battlefield that saw war on Easter Sunday in 1461. Don’t forget the clocks go forward. Leaving West from York through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, and Wighill. Then South past Thorpe Arch, Boston Spa, Clifford and Bramham. Then East from Aberford, Towton, Ulleskelf, Ryther and Cawood. North from there through Stillingfleet, Naburn and in to Fulford. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride is a variation of a CAMRA ride that took place last year. Leaving South from York on the Solar system route then a quiet road towards Crockey Hill. Carrying on East through Wheldrake then South to Thorganby, Barlby and Selby. From there we wind round to Cawood, a left down the hill at Stillingfleet through Naburn and in to Fulford. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride is anti clockwise and we go over the new footbridge in Tadcaster. Heading South then West through Bishopthorpe, Copmanthorpe, Colton, Bilbrough, Catterton, Healaugh, Wighill, Tadcaster. Then out past Stutton and East through Ulleskelf, Ossendyke, Ryther, Cawood. And back in to York through Stillingfleet and Naburn. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
