Full mudguards are required to ride with the club until the clocks change at the end of March. We’re riding Clockwise to the West of York. The number of groups, will depend on the number of people riding.
Current forecast suggests potential ice in places with temperatures down to 3-4C, 15mph wind from the West to help us back in to York. Heading out over the Millennium Bridge then South through Bishopthorpe to then head in to the wind to Copmanthorpe, Colton, Bilbrough and out to Wetherby. Up to North Deighton to turn East with the wind behind us to Cowthorpe, Long Marston and a section on the B1224 all the way back in to York.

Sundays club ride has a mix of roads. Heading West through Askham Bryan and Askham Richard. Then dodging potholes through Angram and Hutton Wandesley. Over the road to Long Marston, Tockwith and Cowthorpe. A couple of bridges and a left turn South for North Deighton and Kirk Deighton. Taking care at the busy roundabout after Wetherby heading to Collingham for a climb hiding round the corner 🙂 Some nice quiet roads from there again watching out for a couple of potholes and oncoming cars as it’s single track. Dropping down in to Bramham for another short sharp climb continuing East. A nice sprint section down in to Tadcaster, taking care over the new footbridge. A right turn for Oxton and Bolton Percy, then back in to York through Colton and Copmanthorpe. Optional Cafe visit afterwards for Coffee and cake.
Sundays ride is anti clockwise and we go over the new footbridge in Tadcaster. Heading South then West through Bishopthorpe, Copmanthorpe, Colton, Bilbrough, Catterton, Healaugh, Wighill, Tadcaster. Then out past Stutton and East through Ulleskelf, Ossendyke, Ryther, Cawood. And back in to York through Stillingfleet and Naburn. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride takes us on familiar roads to the West of York. Heading out towards Copmanthorpe, Bilbrough. Then South through Colton towards Appleton Roebuck. Then West through Bolton Percy, Oxton and Tadcaster. Then on through Healaugh, Askham Richard and back out up to Long Marston past the monument. Through Bilton in Ainsty, Bickerton then back towards York through Tockwith and Hessay. Hopefully the wind assists us back on the A59 for an optional stop at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride will see us head South West out of York through Copmanthorpe, Appleton Roebuck, Colton, Bilbrough, Catterton, Tadcaster. Then South East through Ulleskelf and Biggin. Heading North back to York through Cawood, Stillingfleet, Naburn and Fulford for coffee & cake.
