We’re riding clockwise to the North of York. Over the bridge and past Rowntrees Park following the river towards the Royal Mail. Then through town and out on the A19 North turning off at Overton. Rejoining to carry on to Tollerton followed by various sections with overhanging trees, making the road quite dark in places through Flawith. Take care through Helperby avoiding about 1/2 mile section of Potholes through the village. East to Raskelf and pushing on to Easingwold with the White Horse in the distance. Small climb past the church in Easingwold and a few patched up sections on the road to watch for. Then a gentle climb in to Crayke with a glimpse of the Castle before turning right to go downhill. In to Huby, Sutton on the Forest and Strensall. Careful at the right turn on the blind corner to go past the school and scenic way in to Haxby. In to New Earswick and back in to York with an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Mudguards are still required to ride with the club. We’re riding anti clockwise to the North of York. Heading up Tadcaster road and out of York via Gillygate and Haxby; joining the quieter section of Wigginton Road. After Sutton on Forest we turn West for Huby and the climb at Crayke (the climb can be avoided by turning left just before Crayke and meet back up in Easingwold). Turning left past the Castle keeping an eye out for the left turn up a small section of single track to get to Oulston Road bringing us in to Easingwold. From there it’s South West in to the forecasted wind to Alne and Tollerton. Through Overton and carefully over the A19 for the ride back in to York hopefully wind assisted. The route ends for an optional cafe stop at Your Bike Shed.
