Mudguards are still required to ride with the club. We’re riding anti clockwise to the North of York. Heading up Tadcaster road and out of York via Gillygate and Haxby; joining the quieter section of Wigginton Road. After Sutton on Forest we turn West for Huby and the climb at Crayke (the climb can be avoided by turning left just before Crayke and meet back up in Easingwold). Turning left past the Castle keeping an eye out for the left turn up a small section of single track to get to Oulston Road bringing us in to Easingwold. From there it’s South West in to the forecasted wind to Alne and Tollerton. Through Overton and carefully over the A19 for the ride back in to York hopefully wind assisted. The route ends for an optional cafe stop at Your Bike Shed.

After a week off we have a ride with a couple of ups and downs. We’re starting from Tesco going clockwise to the North of York. Heading out through the City Centre, Gillygate and Wigginton Road. Turning West at Sutton on Forest through Huby for the first climb at Crayke. Straight over and on to Brandsby. Climbing East towards Coulton, then some descending with a sharp turn and climb out of Hovingham. Rising upwards to Terrington for a sharp descent, then climbing back up in to Sheriff Hutton. Through Strensall and New Earswick in to York, for an optional cafe stop for coffee & cake at Your Bike Shed.
We’re heading North for a mix of roads. Leaving Tesco heading through Town and out on Water Lane (Gillygate closed) to Sutton on Forest. Then on quieter roads through Huby followed by a climb at Crayke then descending towards Oulston. A few ups and downs heading East from there towards Yearsley and dropping down to Brandsby (please take care as there is a sharp corner downhill !!!). A fairly straight road from there through Whenby, coming out on the main road for the climb in to Sheriff Hutton. Following the road back in to York avoiding the York 100 and Gillygate closure, with an optional cafe stop for coffee & cake at Your Bike Shed.
The weather forecast looks great for this Sunday. We’re heading in to York past the railway station and then North out of York on the A19/Bootham, then Water Lane and Wigginton road up to Huby and over the hill at Crayke. Then climbing North East up to Brandsby and Hovingham. Turning South from there for a climb up to Terrington and taking care on a very fast downhill section. Carrying on from there through Sherrif Hutton and Strensall. Optional Cafe visit afterwards for coffee and cake.
