We’re riding clockwise to the North East of York, could be in to a headwind on the way home. The number of Groups, will depend on the number of people riding. There could be the option of a shorter or longer route too.
Heading out towards Heworth and Stockton Lane, taking care on the road surface through Stockton on Forest. Upper Helmsley, Sand Hutton, Bossal, Crambe and taking care on the decent down to Kirkham Abbey. The route goes through Westow and splits, Longer route heads further out East to the climb up Leavening and descends in to Barthorpe to rejoin in Buttercrambe. The Shorter route sticks to the road down to Buttercrambe. Back in to Upper Helmsley, Murton, Osbaldwick and Heslington.
There will be an optional cafe stop on return to Cycle Heaven.
Don’t forget the clocks change this Weekend…. The route this Sunday heads North East of York with a few hills. We should be able to split in to 2 or 3 groups depending on numbers riding. We leave Tesco round the back of York College, over the Millennium bridge and out to Murton. Then through Sand Hutton, Bossal, Crambe and Kirkham Abbey. East through Westow and a plan to cross over the Buttercrambe road and head over Leavening for a climb (not the steep bank). Then carry on South through Acklam and Barthorpe to join the road again near Buttercrambe. We can have the last group miss out the climb at Leavening if we have any new riders. After Buttercrambe we go through Upper Helmsley again and then back to York down Stockton Lane. Round past the Minster for an optional cafe stop at Your Bike Shed.
