We’re riding clockwise to the West of York. This avoids the York 100 event taking place. The faster group may go out the other side of Wetherby to add 3 miles on. We set off, taking care over the Millennium Bridge then to Bishopthorpe. Against the wind to Appleton Roebuck, Bolton Percy, Oxton. Tadcaster. Then Walton and Wetherby. The longer route goes out to Spofforth and Little Ribston, the shorter to North Deighton where they both meet to Cowthorpe. Wind assisted to Tockwith, Long Marston, Askham Richard, Askham Bryan and back in to York up Tadcaster Road and through the Knavesmire. There will be an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Sundays club ride has a mix of roads. Heading West through Askham Bryan and Askham Richard. Then dodging potholes through Angram and Hutton Wandesley. Over the road to Long Marston, Tockwith and Cowthorpe. A couple of bridges and a left turn South for North Deighton and Kirk Deighton. Taking care at the busy roundabout after Wetherby heading to Collingham for a climb hiding round the corner 🙂 Some nice quiet roads from there again watching out for a couple of potholes and oncoming cars as it’s single track. Dropping down in to Bramham for another short sharp climb continuing East. A nice sprint section down in to Tadcaster, taking care over the new footbridge. A right turn for Oxton and Bolton Percy, then back in to York through Colton and Copmanthorpe. Optional Cafe visit afterwards for Coffee and cake.
Sundays ride takes us on familiar roads to the West of York and then some new ones. Heading out through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, Wighill, Thorpe Arch, and Boston Spa. New roads and a steady climb to Collingham, Linton, Sicklinghall, Barrowby and Kirkby Overblow. Then winding back towards York through Spofforth, North Deighton, Cowthorpe, Tockwith, Long Marston and Rufforth. Stop at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
