Full mudguards are required to ride with the club until the clocks change at the end of March. We’re riding Clockwise to the East of York. The number of groups, will depend on the number of people riding.
Current forecast for the ride is 1-3C so watch out for ice, 10-12mph wind from the East to help us back in to York. Keeping to good roads at the start out on Hull Road we then turn off for quieter roads through Murton and on to Stamford Bridge. South East down to Pocklington then South West to Melbourne and up to Elvington, careful at the A64 roundabout before returning through Heslington.

Forecast suggests a Sunny 8C with 20mph wind from South West to ride against back in to York. Leaving South on the A19 to Crockey Hill, then East to Wheldrake, Elvington and Melbourne. North East through Pocklington, then North West to Full Sutton. West to Stamford Bridge and Upper Helmsley, then against the wind at angles to Murton and back to the start.
Open to suggestions about Coffee stop as Cycle Heaven are closed.
We’re riding clockwise to the East of York. The number of Groups, will depend on the number of people riding. There could be the option of a shorter or longer route too.
A gentle start to the North East over Walmgate Stray through Osbaldwick, Murton, Warthill and Gate Helmsley. Down to Stamford Bridge for some quiet roads to Bishop Wilton where the routes split. The shorter route heads South to Meltonby, whereas the longer route climbs up Garrowby Hill. Descending down Beacon Road to loop back up to rejoin below Meltonby. Crossing the A1079 carefully to hopefully get a bit of wind assistance through Elvington up to the A64 roundabout. Down to Heslington and back in to Fulford.
There will be an optional cafe stop on return to Cycle Heaven.

Then Fangfoss and taking care over the A1079, Sutton Upon Derwent, Elvington, Wheldrake and Crockey Hill. For safety we’ll go on to the A19 briefly to get on to the Planets track over the river in to Middlethorpe and over Millennium Bridge for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Mudguards are now required to ride with the club. The club ride this Sunday is clockwise to the East of York. Heading towards York on Tadcaster Road and then over the Millenium Bridge. Going through Murton, Warthill, Upper Helmsley and Stamford Bridge. South over the A1079 then West to Sutton Upon Derwent, Elvington, Wheldrake and Crockey Hill. Briefly on the A19 then the Planets bike track in to Bishopthorpe, over the Millenium bridge once more for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
Sundays ride will see us head out of York in groups between 08:45-09:00 on the Planets track through Naburn, Wheldrake, Elvington, Newton Upon Derwent, Wilberfoss, Stamford Bridge, Sand Hutton, Claxton, Flaxton, Strensall, and New Earswick, before heading back to York. There is an optional cafe stop after the ride.
The last group will leave at 0900 prompt to get to Strensall Memorial before 11am to observe 2 minutes silence on Remembrance Sunday.
The planned route has been changed to avoid a Triathlon event. We’re now heading East to Pocklington. We pass through Stockton on Forest, Upper Helmsey and Stamford Bridge. Then climb steadily passing Gowthorpe, Youlthorpe, Bishop Wilton and down in to Meltonby. After Pocklington we go though Sutton Upon Derwent, Elvington, Wheldrake and Crockey Hill. With an optional cafe stop for coffee & cake at Cycle Heaven.
Sundays ride is a modified ride from Iain. We go through York past the Minster, then East through Stockton on the Forest, Upper Helmsley, Buttercrambe, Bugthorpe and Kirby Underdale. Climbing from there up to Garrowby and descending South through Great Givendale, West out of Pocklington through Spittal to Stamford Bridge. Back in to York via Holtby and Osbaldwick. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride will see us head out of York through Naburn, Wheldrake, Elvington, Newton Upon Derwent, Wilberfoss, Stamford Bridge, Sand Hutton, Claxton, Flaxton, Strensall, and New Earswick, before heading back to York for coffee & cake.
We’ll be stopping in Strensall around 11am to observe 2min silence to mark Rememberance Sunday.
