The club ride this Sunday is clockwise to the North of York. Heading in to York on Tadcaster Road then out on the A19 to the North as far as Skelton. Then on quieter roads through Overton, Tollerton, Alne, and Easingwold. East from there to Stillington and mostly South from there to make use of the forecasted tailwind. Back in to York via Sutton on the Forest, Strensall, the back of Haxby and New Earswick for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
The weather forecast looks great for this Sunday. We’re heading in to York past the railway station and then North out of York on the A19/Bootham, then Water Lane and Wigginton road up to Huby and over the hill at Crayke. Then climbing North East up to Brandsby and Hovingham. Turning South from there for a climb up to Terrington and taking care on a very fast downhill section. Carrying on from there through Sherrif Hutton and Strensall. Optional Cafe visit afterwards for coffee and cake.
Sundays ride is a shortened version of the Heart of York ride we have ridden before. We head out of York North through Haxby and then quieter roads out to Flaxton and Thornton Le Clay, followed by a climb at Bulmer Bank. We will regroup at the top. Then out to Coneyshorpe and a left turn West climbing towards Terrington. A left turn heading South for a quick downhill section towards Sheriff Hutton and back in to York via Strensall. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride looks a chilly one to Easingwold. It’s a repeat of a previous ride but we may head through town if that makes it easier for people to join us at the Art Gallery and Rawcliffe Park and Ride. Out on the A19 then through Overton, Tollerton, Alne and Easingwold. Then back South through Huby, Sutton on Forest, Strensall and New Earswick. Stop at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride looks warmer than last week. Could be a damp start. We head East out of York over the Millennium bridge, through Osbaldwick, Murton, Warthill. Then North through Upper Helmsley, Sand Hutton, Bossall, Haton, Barton le Willows and Barton Hill. A left turn West through Foston, Thornton Le Clay and West Lilling. Back South through Strensall, Towthorpe, Earswick and Huntington. An optional stop at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride will see us head out of York through Naburn, Wheldrake, Elvington, Newton Upon Derwent, Wilberfoss, Stamford Bridge, Sand Hutton, Claxton, Flaxton, Strensall, and New Earswick, before heading back to York for coffee & cake.
We’ll be stopping in Strensall around 11am to observe 2min silence to mark Rememberance Sunday.
