Mudguards are now required to ride with the club. We’re riding clockwise to the West of York, heading out to Copmanthorpe, Colton, Appleton Roebuck and Bolton Percy. Then we’re heading over the newly re-opened Tadcaster bridge and carry on to Bramham. North from there to Clifford, Boston Spa and Walton. Up to Tockwith then East through, Long Marston, Hutton Wandesley, Angram, Askham Richard and Askham Bryan. In to York up Tadcaster Road for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.

Similar start to ride #135, heading South to Bishopthorpe then on the Planets track as far as Naburn and by road to Stillingfleet. West from there to Cawood and quieter roads to Biggin, Little Fenton and North to Church Fenton. Carrying on to Ulleskelf and footbridge through Tadcaster. Eastwards to Bolton Percy and Appleton Roebuck. Then through Copmanthorpe and back into York for an optional cafe stop at Your Bike Shed.
The club ride this Sunday is clockwise to the West of York. Leaving South from Tesco towards Bishopthorpe, then West to Copmanthorpe, Colton, Bolton Percy and Tadcaster. North towards Wighill and Walton for a good section up to Tockwith. Coming back in to York avoiding potholes through Long Marston, Hutton Wandesly, Angram, Askham Richard, Askham Bryan. Passing the start point, Tadcaster Road, Knavesmire Road and over the Millenium Bridge for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
Forecast at the moment to be a chilly start with 15mph wind from the North West. The route this Sunday heads in to the wind West from Tesco through Askham Bryan and Askham Richard. North through Rufforth and towards Hessay then West to Tockwith. Hopefully the wind behind us South to Thorpe Arch, Boston Spa and Clifford for a small climb at Windmill Hill. East from there to Tadcaster, walking over the bridge and carrying on to Bolton Percy and Appleton Roebuck. Back in to York through Bishopthorpe and over the Millenium bridge for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
The route this Sunday heads West from Tesco through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, Wighill and Walton. Heading South from there to Boston Spa and on to Tadcaster. Against the wind to Ulleskelf, Cawood and the edge of Stillingfleet. A brief section on the A19 turning right at Escrick and out to Wheldrake. North towards Elvington for the wind to help us back past the York Maze down Hull Road and Heslington for an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
The weather looks nice for the ride this Sunday. Leaving from Tesco in at least 2 groups West on the bike path down the side of the A64 until the Buckles Inn. Then through Bilbrough and Catterton to Tadcaster. A brief walk over the bridge at Tadcaster to carry on to Bramham. South West through Thorner taking care at the A58 junction and right turn just before Shadwell. North from there up and down on various small roads to join the main road briefly at Wike Lane. Coming back East through Rigton and up a climb from the TDY on to some quiet roads back towards Bramham. A short climb from there up to Clifford, Boston Spa, Thorpe Arch and Walton. Wighill, Healaugh, Askham Richard and Askham Bryan and back at Tesco. With an optional Cafe visit for coffee and cake afterwards.
Sundays club ride has a mix of roads. Heading West through Askham Bryan and Askham Richard. Then dodging potholes through Angram and Hutton Wandesley. Over the road to Long Marston, Tockwith and Cowthorpe. A couple of bridges and a left turn South for North Deighton and Kirk Deighton. Taking care at the busy roundabout after Wetherby heading to Collingham for a climb hiding round the corner 🙂 Some nice quiet roads from there again watching out for a couple of potholes and oncoming cars as it’s single track. Dropping down in to Bramham for another short sharp climb continuing East. A nice sprint section down in to Tadcaster, taking care over the new footbridge. A right turn for Oxton and Bolton Percy, then back in to York through Colton and Copmanthorpe. Optional Cafe visit afterwards for Coffee and cake.
Sundays ride is anti clockwise and we go over the new footbridge in Tadcaster. Heading South then West through Bishopthorpe, Copmanthorpe, Colton, Bilbrough, Catterton, Healaugh, Wighill, Tadcaster. Then out past Stutton and East through Ulleskelf, Ossendyke, Ryther, Cawood. And back in to York through Stillingfleet and Naburn. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride takes us on familiar roads to the West of York. Heading out towards Copmanthorpe, Bilbrough. Then South through Colton towards Appleton Roebuck. Then West through Bolton Percy, Oxton and Tadcaster. Then on through Healaugh, Askham Richard and back out up to Long Marston past the monument. Through Bilton in Ainsty, Bickerton then back towards York through Tockwith and Hessay. Hopefully the wind assists us back on the A59 for an optional stop at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
