Full mudguards are required to ride with the club through Winter. We’re riding Clockwise to the South West of York. The number of Groups, will depend on the number of people riding.
The forecast suggests -1C and 12mph Winds from the East. There is also Heavy Snow coming in so there is a chance the ride may be cancelled if it’s too bad. I’ve kept the route short and to fairly good roads. South on the A19 to turn for Naburn, Stillingfleet and Cawood. On to Biggin and North up to Church Fenton and Ulleskelf. In to Tadcaster then Bolton Percy, Appleton Roebuck and Bishopthorpe.
There will be an optional cafe stop on return to Cycle Heaven.
Mudguards are now required to ride with the club. The first club ride of 2017 this Sunday is clockwise to the West of York. Similar start to ride #135, heading South to Bishopthorpe then on the Planets track as far as Naburn and by road to Stillingfleet. West from there to Cawood and quieter roads to Biggin, Little Fenton and North to Church Fenton. Carrying on to Ulleskelf and footbridge through Tadcaster. Eastwards to Bolton Percy and Appleton Roebuck. Then through Copmanthorpe and back into York for an optional cafe stop at Your Bike Shed.
Sundays ride sees us visit Towton Battlefield that saw war on Easter Sunday in 1461. Don’t forget the clocks go forward. Leaving West from York through Askham Bryan, Healaugh, and Wighill. Then South past Thorpe Arch, Boston Spa, Clifford and Bramham. Then East from Aberford, Towton, Ulleskelf, Ryther and Cawood. North from there through Stillingfleet, Naburn and in to Fulford. Stopping at a cafe for coffee & cake afterwards.
Sundays ride will see us head South West out of York through Copmanthorpe, Appleton Roebuck, Colton, Bilbrough, Catterton, Tadcaster. Then South East through Ulleskelf and Biggin. Heading North back to York through Cawood, Stillingfleet, Naburn and Fulford for coffee & cake.
