YRCC Ride 170
Date: 03/09/2017 | Time: 9am | Distance: 36.4 / 44.0 mi | Elevation Gain: 476 / 560ft | Ride Type: Road
We’re riding anti clockwise to the South East of York. Some members rode a similar route recently and seems the best direction to avoid 2 large sportives taking place, plus the bonus of a tailwind home. The number of Groups we split in to will depend on the number of people riding, there could be the option of a shorter or longer route too. Leaving South on the A19 briefly, taking a right turn to Naburn. East from there to Crockey Hill taking care at the A19 junction. Quieter roads again to Wheldrake, turning South for Thorganby, Skipwith, North Duffield, Bubwith. The longer route carries on South to Breighton and Wressle looping back North joining the route again to East Cottingwith. Still North with the wind behind to Sutton Upon Derwent, Elvington. Turning West back in to York taking care at the roundabout over the A64 through Heslington. There will be an optional cafe stop at Cycle Heaven.
