						1 YRCC 60 mile ride West - Weardley Bank and Eccup (60 miles 1500 feet) YRCC 60 mile ride West - Weardley Bank and Eccup (60 miles 1500 feet) 1st April 2018 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm Cycle Heaven, 31 Hospital Fields Rd, Fulford, York YO10 4FS, UK This ride heads west to Long Marston and towards Harrogate. It stays fairly flat until the gradual climb up to Panel , after which the terrain gets more challenging. There's a descent through Kirkby Overblow before a short stretch along the busy A61. Be careful at the right hand turn onto the A659 towards Otley. After a short while turn left for Weardley and the double climb up Weardley Lane and Eccup Lane, the second being a steep challenging climb. Take the left fork not long after top and enjoy the views along the top of Eccup Reservoir. Cross the A61 , admire the big houses in Alwoodley as you start the head for home. From here its downhill all the way to Tadcaster(well, almost). WHOOPEE THE CLOCKS HAVE CHANGED EARLIER START TIME AND NO MUDGUARDS REQUIRED . Distance 60 miles and 1500 feet of climbing. It cuts across to Hovingham on the undulating back road before taking on hairpin bended steep climb to Nunnington. The second half of the ride is all about descending some of those hills we normally climb. After a diversion to Amotherby we descend into Coneysthorpe, then we descend the hill towards Terrington, then we cut across to Bulmer and descend Bulmer Bank. If you've ever thought of riding with a club but were unsure then this ride is for you. The ride will be 20-25 miles long at a speed of 11-14 mph although priority will be given to keeping together. Both rides are almost flat , providing members with the chance to push themselves into new territory. The 200K ride is a loop over three major river crossings to the south west of York. The Humber Bridge, The Trent and The Ouse. There are two Cafe stops (Potting Shed Café just outside South Cave at 43.5 miles and at California Gardens in Howden at 101miles.) Both rides are almost flat , providing members with the chance to push themselves into unfamiliar territory. The 100K ride is a loop to the south west of York. There is a café stop is at Gilberdyke Garden Centre at 37 miles. The route uses back roads wherever possible to make its way to the end of the River Ouse. It crosses the M62 and heads back for home following the River Derwent. The highpoint of the day is at the top of Brandsby after which we head for Hovingham. Avoiding Potticar bank we turn at Slingsby for Coneysthorpe. We then head in to Malton and on to Leavening. Continuing climbing up and out of Acklam on the steep climb. We turn right to descend down to Barthorpe. Then its on to Buttercrambe and home via Murton. Distance 58.5 miles and 2500 feet of climbing. 23	24	25	26	27	28	29 YRCC 60 Wolds - Nunburnholme and Givendale (59 miles, 2300 feet) YRCC 60 Wolds - Nunburnholme and Givendale (59 miles, 2300 feet) 29th April 2018 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am Cycle Heaven, 31 Hospital Fields Rd, Fulford, York YO10 4FS, UK This route goes east to wolds anti-clockwise. Heading out along the A19 which should be quiet enough early on a Sunday morning we turn off for Wheldrake, Elvington, Cross the 1079 at Hayton before the first climb of the day at Nunburnholme. Then its downhill to Water before heading for Millington and the big climb of the day at Givendale. We cross the A166 and head down Roman Road until we turn for Acklam , we bypass the village and head straight down the descent to come out near Buttercrambe. Then the ride home is via Upper Helmsley and Murton. Total length 59 miles, 2300 feet of climbing.
