Say hello to Nigel

Hello! I'm Nigel.

I started cycling in my 20's - I soon switched from road to mountain biking. I competed in MTB orienteering for many years and did crazy stuff like alpine descents and cross country marathons. I came back to the road about 10 years ago but still MTB regularly.

I became a Rouleur in 2015 and have been on hundreds of Club Rides since then.  I've ridden some of the great Alpine climbs, done the Fred Whitton and many other sportives.

I joined the committee in 2017 - I started organising the long rides and founded the 60 mile rides. I'm proud to say both rides are still going.

In 2022, I started a new journey, becoming one of the Clubs first qualified coaches with British Cycling. Our monthly Skills Session are a chance for all our members to upskill and great fun too.

So this is me - over 30 years as a cyclist through and through.

Broken bones, stitches, countless days of aching muscles and moments of deep despair. But all outshone by days in the sun, cresting of the climbs, the thrill of the descent and the friends I have made.

The has given much such freedom and enabled me to do so much. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
