Say hello to Radu
Hello, I’m Radu - the club welfare officer, making sure the club is a safe environment for all people.
My first ride with the Rouleurs in September 2018, soon after moving to York and I’ve enjoyed riding with the club ever since.
Cycling is doing me loads of good for so many reasons, I massively love the fun, social, wellbeing, equalising & planet saving effects of cycling. Cycling has really been a genuine relief and a safety valve whilst working on the frontlines through the pandemic Same goes for the Club too.
A complete revelation and one of the local roads I love most is the long descent into Thixendale just after climbing Leavening Bank. I feel transported in a carefree, happy place whenever I ride it.
Further afield, other exotic roads I've ridden & enjoyed are Serenity climb & The Valley of the Tears in Gran Canaria. Yup, I can assure you I've not made those names up, with the latter very aptly named road clearly being all out Type II fun and one of hardest things I've done.
I’m now hooked on ticking off some of the greatest, most scenic climbs in the UK and beyond.
Hope to meet & ride with many more of you soon!
